Health » Think Great Thoughts

"Who am I to be gifted and special? Who am I not to be"
                                                                              Martin Luther King

If you believe you can, or believe you can't; then you are right!

There is far more truth in this seemingly innocent saying

Let's review the evidence.....

Research has proven the link between the information and pictures we make in our minds directly influences our state,

or quite simply our mood. Our physiology, such as our posture, breathing and facial and body language also affects our moods.
Both of these, whether we are consciouly aware or totally unaware, directly influence how we then behave.

In simple terms, your body acts out who you think you are!

This is an incredible concept to grasp as it can be a powerful tool for positive living and achieving your heartfelt goals. Comprehensive studies have long been published about the power of positive thinking to help heal, fight cancer and aid olympic athletic performance.

By consciously connecting with your own self talk, self communication and how you treat yourself in your own mind and body, you can write your own script and be all that you want to be!

By exercising, you are already making positive connections with your body, making it more efficient, healthier and fitter. Exercise also naturally stimulates the release of endorphins which lift your mood and make it even easier to feel great about yourself.

However, our biggest critic and hurdle is the nagging, negative and highly critical voice in our own heads. Most of us walk around daily, torturing ourselves with words of blame, failure, self loathing, and guilt. We punish ourselves for our wobbly tummy, eating chocolate and failing to fit into size 10 clothes.

We would never in a million years talk to any of our friends in this way, but regularly do it to ourselves.

But the fantastic news is that we have access to our self talk and body behaviour.

We simply have to tap into our minds and change our self talk and images for the better.

It may seem ridiculously easy, but it is so simple and it works!
